Art critic Victoria Lebedeva about Tatiana Ianovskaia.

Tatiana Ianovskaia is an extremely ardent and talented artist. Sometimes it seems her imagination is ahead her brush. Being T.Selvinskaia apprentice, she sees a theatre everywhere. Her paintings are impressive, colorful, interesting.

Red oxen are flying against a dark background, children are marching with balloons in the mist, winged angels, young mothers…In another picture a man is flying in the dark blue sky with a swaddling baby on his arms. Those paintings are close to the gospel’s theme. And the artist has been working successfully as an icon painter for many years.

Tatiana’s portrait-paintings are remarkable. The life observation in combination with the gentle irony and deformation transfers the work from routine to generalized and makes it almost symbolical. Tatiana is a scenic artist as well. In her works she both portrays the appearance and depicts the costumes and make-up. So the portraits remind us heroes from an unknown performance.

Besides, Tatiana is known as a good drawer. The series of drawings to Lewis Carroll "Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland" are excellent indeed. Free freak of imagination, sense of humor, bold combination of impossible is connected with the surrealism of the text. Those drawings are worth being published for sure.

Tatiana is a young and very creative artist. It goes without saying that the (breadth of) board interests, lively character, observation and ability to notice something expressive, unusual, unexpected from the nature makes her definitely interesting as an artist and personality.

We are looking forward to seeing Tatiana’s new talented works.
